The New England Chapter’s Spring CE Conference and Dinner Meeting took place Monday-Tuesday, May 7-8, at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods. The entire event, which included 4 courses, offered participants a total of 16 CE credits.
Monday morning speakers included: AARST National President Carolyn Allen, who provided updates on AARST activities; Gloria Linnertz from CanSAR, who spoke about the progress that organization has made and described experiences when testifying before state and federal legislators; Eugene Marconi, General Counsel for the Connecticut Association of Realtors®, who discussed where radon fits into today’s real estate market; Eugene Benoit from the EPA’s Region 1 office, who provided an update on funding cuts and how they might – and might not – affect the radon industry; and Steve Andras, past president of Basement Health Association, who gave a talk on the history of basement health.
During the Dinner Meeting on Monday night, Chapter President Dave Hill reported on the Chapter’s finances, and an election was held for Officers and Board members. Dave Hill, Ed Beauregard and David Naggar were re-elected to their positions as President, Vice President and Treasurer, respectively, and Sandy Prior-Thomas was elected to fill the vacant Secretary position. Josephine Saltzman was elected to the Board.
